'Drive for Change' TikTok Ad

I worked with the Creative Team at WFXR Television in Roanoke, Va. to develop a creative ad to place on TikTok during our fall campaign, Drive for Change: Buckle Up and Slow Down. This project started with brainstorming via mood boards, writing a script, editing, procuring props and t-shirts, and walking through the approval process with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and the Virginia State Police, to eventually producing the spot with WFXR and students at Northside High School in Roanoke.

The goal of the ad campaign was simply to promote seat belt use among teens and obeying posted speed limits during the fall back-to-school season. In addition to placing the spot on TikTok, it was also placed on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. We boosted the post on Facebook/Instagram and the television station also ran the spot on WFXR/WWCW at no cost to our program.

'Arrive Alive' TikTok Ad Campaign

This ad campaign was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and aired in the spring/summer of 2021. Our team along with WFXR had to think outside of the box to come up with something creative that would resonate with teens while at home. Through the same process mentioned above, we came up with a "Too Fast" message that we developed into four different videos that were shot by our Youth Advisory Council members in their own home. We sent them lavalier microphones to record each spot and they sent the videos back to us to work with WFXR to further develop the spots for placement on TikTok and on-air. Our goal was to reach young males, who are over-represented in crashes and we met that goal with 1,234,234 male impressions. The ads also had 1,093,060 impressions by females.

Retro-Themed Safety Campaign 

This ad campaign was another combined effort between our team and WFXR. After coming up with the initial idea, we moved to developing four separate scripts, securing talents and props, and pushing everything through the Virginia DMV and Virginia State Police approval process. This campaign focused on seat belt use, speed prevention, and distracted driving. The Retro-Themed Campaign was placed on YouTube and Instagram/Facebook.

Summer Safe Driving Campaign

This ad campaigns was also a combined effort between our team and WFXR. After coming up with the initial idea, we moved to developing the script, securing talents and props, and pushing everything through the Virginia DMV and Virginia State Police approval process. This campaign focused on seat belt use, speed prevention, and distracted driving.  The Summer Safe Driving Campaign was placed on Instagram and ran as an integrated campaign on Facebook as well.
